Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions apply to all bookings made with DH Waste Management. By booking our services, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.
1. About Us
DH Waste Management provides licensed waste collection, rubbish removal and disposal services to domestic and commercial customers throughout the Midlands.
We are committed to disposing of waste responsibly and in accordance with all applicable environmental legislation.
2. Waste Carrier Licence
DH Waste Management is a registered Upper Tier Waste Carrier with the Environment Agency.
All waste collected is transported and disposed of at authorised waste transfer and recycling facilities.
3. Quotations
All quotations are provided based on the information supplied by the customer.
Our quotations assume that:
- Waste has been accurately described.
- Photographs supplied are representative.
- Access is as described.
- Waste is available for collection.
Should any of these details differ, we reserve the right to amend the quotation before work commences.
Examples include:
- More waste than originally described.
- Heavier materials.
- Additional loading time.
- Stair access.
- Longer carrying distances.
- Restricted parking.
- Undeclared waste types.
Any revised quotation will be discussed before loading begins.
4. Bookings
Bookings are confirmed only once accepted by DH Waste Management.
Arrival times are estimated and may vary due to:
- Traffic.
- Road closures.
- Weather conditions.
- Previous jobs taking longer than expected.
We will always endeavour to notify customers of any significant delays.
5. Customer Responsibilities
Customers agree that:
- The waste belongs to them or they have permission to dispose of it.
- All waste has been honestly described.
- Safe access is available.
- Children and pets are kept clear of the work area.
- Any parking restrictions have been disclosed.
6. Access Charges
Additional charges may apply where access is more difficult than originally described.
Examples include:
- Multiple flights of stairs.
- Long carrying distances.
- No parking nearby.
- Narrow access.
- Locked gates.
- Unsafe ground conditions.
7. Specialist Waste Charges
Certain waste streams require specialist disposal and may incur additional charges.
These include, but are not limited to:
- Mattresses.
- Upholstered furniture (POPs Waste).
- Plasterboard.
- Fridges & Freezers.
- American Style Fridge Freezers.
- TVs & Monitors.
- Tyres.
- Fluorescent Tubes.
- Paint.
- Chemicals.
- Soil.
- Hardcore.
- Concrete.
- Rubble.
These charges will be confirmed before loading.
8. Upholstered Furniture (POPs Waste)
Many upholstered domestic seating items are legally classified as Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) waste.
This includes:
- Sofas.
- Sofa beds.
- Armchairs.
- Recliners.
- Office chairs.
- Dining chairs with upholstered seats.
- Bean bags.
- Footstools.
- Upholstered stools.
These items must be transported and disposed of separately under environmental legislation.
Additional disposal charges apply.
Failure to declare upholstered furniture before collection may result in the quotation being revised.
9. Prohibited Waste
DH Waste Management does not collect:
- Asbestos.
- Clinical waste.
- Explosives.
- Ammunition.
- Radioactive materials.
- Gas cylinders.
- Infectious waste.
- Hazardous chemicals (unless agreed beforehand).
- Illegal substances.
If prohibited waste is found, collection may be refused and a call-out charge may apply.
10. Loading
Unless otherwise agreed, our service includes loading waste into our vehicle.
Our staff reserve the right to refuse to lift items considered unsafe due to excessive weight or risk.
11. Payment
Payment is due immediately upon completion of the collection unless otherwise agreed.
We accept:
- Bank Transfer.
- Debit Card.
- Credit Card.
- Cash.
Commercial customers with agreed account terms must pay within the agreed payment period.
Late payments may incur statutory interest and debt recovery costs.
12. Cancellations
Bookings cancelled with at least 24 hours' notice will not incur a cancellation charge.
Late cancellations or failed appointments may be subject to a call-out fee.
13. Recycling
DH Waste Management aims to recycle as much waste as reasonably possible.
However, recycling rates depend on the materials collected and the facilities available at licensed waste sites.
14. Waste Transfer Notes
Commercial customers will receive a Waste Transfer Note where required by law.
Domestic customers may request a receipt confirming collection.
15. Property Damage
Whilst every care is taken during collections, DH Waste Management cannot accept responsibility for:
- Existing damage.
- Hidden defects.
- Damage resulting from customer instructions.
- Damage caused where customers insist on items being removed against our advice.
Any concerns must be raised before our team leaves site.
16. Refusal of Service
DH Waste Management reserves the right to refuse collection where:
- Waste has not been declared accurately.
- Staff safety is at risk.
- Illegal materials are present.
- Abuse or threatening behaviour is directed towards staff.
17. Limitation of Liability
Our liability shall not exceed the total amount paid for the service provided, except where liability cannot legally be excluded.
Nothing within these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
18. Privacy
Any personal information supplied to DH Waste Management will be processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy and UK GDPR.
19. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
Before You Book
Please ensure you have:
- Accurately described your waste.
- Declared all upholstered furniture.
- Declared fridges, TVs, mattresses or plasterboard.
- Confirmed parking and access arrangements.
- Made us aware of stairs or long carrying distances.
Failure to do so may result in revised pricing on arrival.
